I write music for media projects that aim to tell a story with audio. I specialize in versatile multi-style writing, combining a classical musical training with technical production. Whether it's an interactive gameplay sequence, or a pivotal moment in a short film, I push to find the music that will add an extra layer of depth to the scene.
From jiving up the room with boogie woogie piano, to blasting 76 Trombones on a football field and beyond, I have always been involved in music making. I attended Case Western Reserve University, where I studied trombone performance, music composition, and physics. As a performer, I diversified my playing as much as possible: tenor trombone in orchestras, base 'bone in jazz groups, sackbut in chamber ensembles, and anything I could get my hands on (including the conductor's baton) in musical theater pit orchestras,
Despite the more apparent professional progression into physics and engineering, I decided to focus on music. I have always been inspired by the power of audio and picture to meld together and elevate themselves to something greater than the sum of their parts. Combined with the joy of classical music composition, and my penchant for the technical, I found a home with music production for media.
Since moving back to my hometown area of Boston, I have collaborated with local film companies, writing music for film festivals that have screened in Hollywood. I am involved with the Boston game development scene, doing work both in and outside of audio. I also currently perform with the Longwood Symphony Orchestra, the New Philharmonia, and Mia Orquesta salsa band.
Primarily, I work in my studio outside of Boston, with the aid of a delinquent chinchilla, to write and produce music for games, film, and promotional media.
